VAN GOGH
STARRY NIGHT CEILING
The layout for this installation was accomplished quickly by printing the entire artwork on vinyl and rolling it out. Our bender worked over-time forming all of the sweeps out of aluminum channel. The lenses are a custom silicone creation that was poured at our shop. And it was just under a mile of RGBWA LED that we cut into thousands of pieces. Our entire team has since become very competent at soldering.
LETTERS to VAN GOGH
INTERACTIVE EXHIBIT
This pen was sculpted on our CNC out of dense foam; the layers were then assembled, and fiber- glassed. Our welders created this steel helix and metal sculptural framework for the cyclone of letters. Each letter was formed over armature that could then be curled and shaped into this fluttery looking tornado. Our lead scenic Tanya is always adding the final touches. The scenic work on this installation is beautiful!
My first visit to the site, I noticed they had walled off the entire space. The only egress was no larger than a normal size set of double doors. In order to install in this location, we had to pull the storefront windows every day to accommodate our truckloads of scenery.
