EMMY WINNING LIZA CENTERPIECE
The scale of this build and its intended movement pushed the limits of what was possible. The build crew spent some grueling days raising this steel structure at Reel FX where it maxed out their height. This test assembly was a round-the-clock effort, and once the structure was up it immediately needed to be disassembled and brought back to the shop for more work.

Sometimes choice of materials and finishes evolve through the design build process. We love this aspect of creative partnership. For the close down, the designer and art director were looking for a specific look and feel.
Various weights and weaves of wire mesh were tested until we found one that could be sculpted and also capture the desired scenic finish. The result was an ethereal textured look on screen, which was enhanced by lighting for the big show.
