At Goodnight & Co., we have the advantage of providing a full-service in-house facility that can handle everything from engineering and design through build and installation.

VAN GOGH Hollywood

The layout for this installation was accomplished quickly by printing the entire artwork on vinyl and rolling it out. Our bender worked over-time forming all of the sweeps out of aluminum channel. The lenses are a custom silicone creation that was poured at our shop. And it was just under a mile of RGBWA LED that we cut into thousands of pieces. Our entire team has since become very competent at soldering.

THAT'S MY JAM

With a personality all his own - this was a fun and challenging build that involved LED screens, LED runs and chasing lights to emote character. We created our own mobilators, then coordinated flying speakers, swinging doors, and the moving decks - revealing two game booths. The booths were built to accommodate several different games; “Say it Don’t Spray it” involved water spraying microphones.

CRIME SCENE KITCHEN

This dessert revealing machine was the central focus of the show.

Three hydraulic lifts automate the side panels which are choreographed to dissipate the low-lying nitrogen fog which reveals the desserts as they are lifted into view. Over the course of the show this effect was shot more than 300 times.

The OSCARS 2020

Liza, the swooping gilded centerpiece of the 2020 Oscars, was the single largest, flown, moving piece of scenic ever constructed for the Dolby stage. It is a triumph of engineering, metal work, scenic, electric and refusal to compromise a creative vision.

The OSCARS 2019

The 2019 Oscar stage proscenium arch, whose powerful strokes and soft curves needed to be assembled seamlessly, was the largest sculptural piece our team has ever built. Scale modeling, support structure, and a well-planned route to stage made this unique set piece possible.

ROLEX 2020

The standards for the Rolex Green Room, backstage at the Oscars, are exactly what you would expect. This highly polished set included a custom display case and chandelier, camera obscura illusion on all sides, and a modular build for tight and efficient install.

DOOM

This rich sci-fi set was a blast to build. It had the added challenge of building to integrate with heavy special effects, and it paired green screen with key foreground elements to create a layered and convincing look.

THE LAST JEDI

Building a Star Wars environment for an immersive experience was an absolute joy. There is something magical about building a set for a world class IP that fans can interact with and experience first hand.

ELLEN

Not all sets stand the test of time, but at GOODNIGHT quality builds are our passion. The Ellen Show set was installed in 2014 and used until 2020. This talk show set has become an icon.

TESLA Solar Tiles

Every once in a while you get to build something that gives you a glimpse into the future. This ambitious project transformed a classic Hollywood backlot into the neighborhood of the future.

MADEWORN

GOODNIGHT built this modern pop up shop and oversaw its install in the historic Le Bon Marche, Paris. Erected beneath the department store's elegant glass atrium-ceiling, this build was a beautiful and rewarding challenge.

VOLVO XC90

The Highway Robbery Volvo commercial was a sleek set build integrated with power generating technology. It’s not every day you get to power your set with moving traffic. The clean lines and interactive technology make this commercial set a noteworthy build.

COME AWAY

This Los Angeles-based feature film set build needed to speak to real exteriors in Cheshire England and match seamlessly with a twin sister set at Pinewood Studios, in the UK. Real life reference, impeccable craftsmanship, and use of reclaimed wood made this set a beautiful and memorable build.
