PROSCENIUM ARCH
EPIC BUILD AND PLANNING FOR SUCCESS
The 2019 Oscars proscenium arch was truly an epic build. Show scenery this big takes extra planning and problem solving. For this purpose, a scale model was built in the planning phase of the project. This allowed us to look at the piece as a whole and inform our decisions on how the scenery would be built, travel and ultimately be assembled into a single, graceful, massive sculpture.
TEST ASSEMBLY
Leaving nothing to chance, this scenery had to be test hung before going to stage to be installed. The arch was test fit and assembled at another stage large enough to hold it, before receiving it’s beautiful gold scenic finish for the big show.
ROSE RIBBONS
Over 80,000 Forever Roses were used to create the beautiful backdrop and scenery for the 2019 Oscars. The set design contained huge Rose Ribbons as a backdrop for the stage. To achieve this dimensional look, Goodnight and Company built long curved wood faces on huge gold armatures. The wood was pre-drilled for the flowers to be placed. Smaller more delicate curved scenery pieces were done in foam and also covered in roses. Forever Roses hand placed all of the flowers to create the rich and vibrant final look.
